Text field getting cut in IE

Hi,

 With the text fields displays differently in Firefox and IE. Please advise how to fix the same in IE. The text field is fixed to 50 characters width. The text field is getting cut in IE

How to suppress the IE behavior and change look and feel like Firefox.
