Text Background Color - Can it be transparent?

Hi,

I'm facing a problem where I've set the background color of a text item to "Gray"
The forms color scheme on the web is set to "Teal" so when the form is loaded the text background color shows as gray
and it doesn't take up the color of the color scheme ("Teal")

Is there a way to specify transparency for the text item's background color so that
the background color changes according to the color scheme chosen the forms server settings ?

Pls help.
