I'm testing backup / recovery plans on 11gR2
This is the simulated DR:
- Full DB backup at 11:59pm 8/10/2015 to a separate location.
- Transactions added throughout the night and day 8/11/2015.
- Archivelog is turned on and multiplex to a separate location.
- Last archivelog created at 8/11/2015 5:45pm
On 8/11/2015 6:00pm; DB servers crashed.
My backupground is MSSQL - I figured *.ARC files are similar to MSSQL log backup files. IF that is true, I should be able to recover from the *.ARC files, correct? The question is, how do we recover from *.ARC file?
