TestFieldDemo problem

I run the TextFieldDemo that comes with the SDK 3.0. It works fine on the emulator. But when ported to my HTC HD, all text fields appear as a thin box without cursor. Touch screen doesn't work. But I am able to use the on screen keyboard to continue and it seems working fine, exception that I am not able to see what I type in the text field. Does touch screen has another API for text fields or items?
