Java EE (Java Enterprise Edition) General Discussion

A while ago i tryed JSF but i found i very hard to develop a uniform website. I used to work with php and there i can easily create some includes witch are the basic templates of my website.

I am wondering if JSF has something i could use for templating so i can devide the template and the core business.

I once looked at the option to create custom controls for like a menu and then put that menu on each page but i found it very hard to create components, especially if they have lots of html in it.

Is there a good way or best practive for jsf to create a website's layout?
