Technological considerations in moving from MySQL to Oracle
690205Mar 5 2012 — edited Mar 5 2012I am the CIO/CTO of Audit Analytics. We have been a MySQL shop since our founding in 2000. We are a bit "home-grown" in terms of our technology, but generally are FreeBSD, MySQL and PHP. We do lots of spidering, purchase data, integrate it and seel feeds and online subscriptions. We have used store procedures extensively and believe that the conversion to Oracle would be a real challenge because of our extensive use of MySQL tools that may not port.
I would appreciate some guidance as to the things to consider.
