tcp_smtp_server problem

807574Dec 4 2006 — edited Feb 11 2020
Hi forum,

Our messaging server version is iPlanet Messaging server 5.2 hotfix 1.25. We had used this version for about three year, it's very steady. But recently, the MTA of our server is something wrong. Some tcp_smtp_server processes consume so much memory and swap,

Example:

PID USERNAME SIZE RSS STATE PRI NICE TIME CPU PROCESS/NLWP
15217 mailsrv 2655M 1925M sleep 59 0 0:00.06 3.3% tcp_smtp_server/64
21993 mailsrv 3877M 2703M sleep 59 0 0:00.02 2.8% tcp_smtp_server/65

Is it a bug cause to memory leak, or some one attacked our system?

Regards,
Peter
