Tape Drive RD1000 with Oracle Linux Rel 5 Update 4

Guys I bought Dell Rack server 2950 with Tape drive RD1000, i installed Oracle Enterprise Linux Rel 5 update 4, But this Tape drive is not working at all. I discussed this issue with Dell support, they told me that oracle Linux is not supporting RD1000. Is there any update available ?
