Table locks

Hello,

Before running the following two scripts, Is there need to to shutdown the APPLICATION in which this Object exists before running the scripts? Secondly, how I can find are there any locks on the table? DB=10.2.0.5.0 OS=RHL

The script contains delete, insert, execute, gatherstatistics kind of things to run.
