TABLE ACCESS BY GLOBAL INDEX ROWID

936749Sep 18 2015 — edited Sep 18 2015

Hi All,

I have a plan of a query that performs a TABLE ACCESS BY GLOBAL INDEX ROWID.

What does this actually mean? And I have tried check the Oracle documentation but either I do not understand it or it's just expected that I know it.

Will the query get the entire row from the table and how can I know which index is used?

The plan says TABLE ACCESS BY GLOBAL INDEX ROWID and then table name.

Cheers
