Tablas Temporales en Oracle

Señores, favor necesito ayuda en el siguiente tema : ¿porque Oracle no borra las estructuras temporales en forma automática? , al crear tablas temporales con CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE estas forman parte del diccionario del DB y a pesar de que los datos se eliminan al cerrar la sesion esta estructura no desaparece, ¿tendrá que ver con algún parámetro en el motor de datos?

Espero puedan ayudarme, son nuevo en Oracle y actualmente me estoy cambiando de plataforma, Informix.
