As usual we got to the point of upgrading the firmware of the T4-4s. And as usual the concern is that after upgrading the first T4-4, in order to upgrade the next one you have to migrate the ldoms from the old firmware to the new one. From Oracle support in the SR the two answers recieved are:
- "please be aware that the source system should *not* have higher Firmware version than the target system"
- We have seen occasions when migration has not worked
Obviously the first point is what happens when you are upgrading and migrating from the not-yet-upgraded T4 to the upgraded T4. It cannot be avoided.
We are presently running Ldom Manager version 3.0.0.4 and plan to upgrade firmware from 8.3.0d to 8.6.0.b.
I would be interested to know if anyone has done this firmware upgrade and had issues migrating ldoms from 8.3.0.d to 8.6.0b.
