System Tablespace does not AutoExtend?

I apologize if this the wrong place for this post, i am new to oracleXE.

I've been exporting table with spatial data to oracleXE, and although there is still plenty of storage room, it seems that the System and SysAux tablespaces are nearly full (>98%). This is now causing errors like ora-0163 (unable to extend table..). Why would these tablespaces be full even though I've only used 1gb of the 4gb of available storage? Why are they no autoextending? Is there a way to remedy this?
