System.out.println console output disappeared

I had an installation of JDeveloper which seem ed to be working correctly, but it got corrupted in a system crash, so I had to reinstall it. Now, the system console output is not appearing in the OC4J window like it used to. I tried looking for a setting somewhere which would affect this, but the only setting I could find was to redirect logs to a file, which was turned off. I tried turning it on, and the output still didn't appear, either in the console or in the log file.

If it matters, I'm doing JSP and servlet development, connecting to an Oracle database on another server. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
