synonym translation not valid

Hi all,
I have two user userA and B (Oracle 10G Express Edition, sqldeveloper-2.1.0.63.73)
I am trying to give grant to a table(owner is A) after creating a public synonym for that table

CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM table01 FOR userA.table01;
GRANT SELECT ON table01 TO userB;

but I am receiving

Error report:
SQL Error: ORA-00980: synonym translation is no longer valid
00980. 00000 - "synonym translation is no longer valid"

*Action:

please help on this
