Switching between MTD, QTD, YTD in report

What is the best practice for allowing a user to go from MTD to QTD to YTD numbers in a report?

We have an analysis in OBIEE 11g which pulls data from an Essbase cube. Right now we're only showing numbers for the current month but the users want to see QTD and YTD numbers, and have a mechanism to flip from one to the other. Is there a way to create these as a prompt or something like that so the users can select a different period calculation and see those numbers on a report instead of having to go to a separate report?

It seems like this would be pretty common functionality.
