Supplier Active Contacts

All.
I need your help finding out how I can determine how many active contacts supplier has. This is in R12 and I know this much about the tables. Contacts are stored in ar.hz_parties and suppliers are in ap_suppliers.

I am not sure how I can join supplier to get the number of active contact it has in hz_parties since every contact has its own party_id and so does the supplier. Any input will be appreciated.
