We are currently upgrading our Cognos tools from 7.1 MR1 to 7.3 MR2. In version 7.1 we used iPlanet Directory Server, but with the new tools they are now using SunOne Directory Server 5.2.

When we put the cd into the cd-tray at the server console and run the setup we get a blank command prompt screen and then the server hangs right there.

We have also tried running the setup through terminal services which will allow us to see a Java screen pop up and allow us to proceed with the installation.

We wish to be able to install DS at the console in front of the server rather than remotely through Terminal Services. we have installed the JSDK 1.5.x to see if the issue was JAVA related but the server still hung at a blank command prompt after running the setup.exe.

On our server we currently are running Windows 2000 SP4 with all the reccommended security updates from Microsoft. I believe the exact version is 5.00.2195.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated!
