sun x2100m2 server does not see installed LSI raid card

1011227Oct 8 2014 — edited Oct 8 2014

I have a sun x2100 M2 server, BIOS version S40_3A21, bios date: 10/30/08.

I've just installed an LSI pci-e raid card model SAS3042E-HP but the BIOS settings and boot procerss show no awareness of the card. I'm a bit stumped here. I don't know whether the card may be faulty, or whether there's an incompatibility between this server and this raid card.

I've scoured the BIOS settings several times but I thought at least the boot process would show the card but there's nothing. Usually under Boot Priority the LSI card would show so one can select it but it's not there. I did notice jumper pins on the raid card labelled 1.2v and 3.3v but I don't know if the server needs this set. Thanks if anyone can shed light.
