Sun One web server 6.1 - How to renew SSL cert?

We need to renew our Verisign SSL cert. I am unable to locate any docs on generating CSR for renewal when an exisitng certificate is already installed. Whether to create a new key database or use the existing one.
Will be very grateful for any clarification/help on the steps for renewing SSL cert. - Thanks and regards
