Sun Java Systems Web Server 7.0

807567Feb 22 2010 — edited Mar 9 2010
I'm new to this forum and to web server 7.0.

I'm using Solaris 10, 11/06 for SPARC, hardware is an old server (2x 1.28GHz UltraSPARC III-i, 8GB memory). The web server is installed, and I've been following the Administrator's Guide. But, now I'm stuck.

I am trying to configure the web server for the following intranet:

a) 100 nodes, static IP's
b) public and private documents
c) the private documents access is a link on the main web page and has a user name/password

There are going to be eight users who will need access to their own private documents. I've created individual user names/groups for each of the users via SMC. In the web server, I also have the users and their groups defined (same user name/group name from SMC). In the ACL, all of these users are defined, added into the default ACL, with access from anyplace.

For the authentication database, keyfile is being used.

Before I deployed the virtual server instance, any client could see any of the links from the main web page. After this server instance was deployed, accessing any of the private links requested a user name/password. However, the ones that I thought I'd created do not work.

What am I overlooking?

Thanks for the help!

Gary
