Sun Blade 150 - NVRAM reset, ethernet address is now all ZEROS
807557Dec 14 2007 — edited Dec 14 2007I reset (pulled/replaced while powered up, then 'set-defaults') the NVRAM in a used Sun Blade 150 that I bought (it was fully locked and I didn't know the password).
I was getting IDprom checksum invalid errors, but was able to perform a clean install of Solaris 10.
I got the system up and running, but it wouldn't communicate with anything past the local switch that it's attached to. After successfully pinging from another (linux) box on the same switch, I ran "arp -a" and saw the MAC address as "00:00:00:00:00:00". I ran "ifconfig -a" on the Solaris box and confirmed this.
Does anyone know how to set the MAC address back to a sane value?
Thanks,
Jason
