Sudden increase in db file sequential read wait

user125779Nov 23 2010 — edited Nov 23 2010
Hi

We have Oracle 11.1.0.7 on Windows.

There are about 20-30 users connecting to database. Till 2 days back , my DB was performing very well. However there is a sudden increase in DB file sequential read wait event causing severe performance degradation.

There were this wait always , but since 2 days the waiting is very long. I figured out that the disc i/o is hitting 100% due to this.

No other process is running on server.

No changes are done to any parameter . I exported the statistics previously when DB was performing very fast, tried importing it, but no luck. However when the similar situation occurred before importing statistics worked.

Please provide any suggestion.

Thanks
