stuck BPM processess in BPM activities

Hi,

In live, we ususally see the inflight process are stuck in BPM activities, when we do weblogic server restart then this get released. But why will this process get stuck in BPM activities without processing the process. Any one have got the similar situations, please let me know how you overcame.
