Streams Capture process aborts with ORA-01374:log_parallelism not supported

We are setting up Streams between 11g and 9i(9.2.0.8). The 9i is source and when we start the capture process it aborts with: ORA-01374: log_parallelism greater than 1 not supported in this release.

I have checked and rechecked to make sure that the log_parallelism is exactly 1.
Request your help in debugging this please
