Strange problem with Cascading Select Lists and onchange events

Hi there,

I know it is a pre-historic browser and not supported anymore, unfortunately life is not perfect and it is the standard browser here in the company I am working for... IE 6!!!

I have a strange problem where the onchange event is triggered twice for a select list when it has another select list cascading on it. This does not happen with other browsers and/or versions.

It would be quite long winded to explain the problem in detail here, so I created a sample page in the Apex website:
