Storing junk characters or values in place of the special characters

Hi,

I had a situation where I ftp data from .bcp files(Unix environment) and store this data into tables in Oracle 10g.
When any of the special characters like french accent in letters like Nestlé encountered , Oracle is storing them withsome junk values...

What to do in order to preserve these characters..
Please advise.
