StorageTek commands?

807557Oct 11 2007
I am trying to create a script that will basically help us automate tape withdrawals from our StorageTek L700e tape library. My idea is to extract the list of tapes that are currently full and expiry date is later than the current date, then one by one, withdraw them to the CAP. But my problem is, if there is already a tape in one of the slots in the CAP, then my script will have error as it assumes that the CAP's 40 slots are free.

Is there a way from the OS command line to determine if there are tapes in the tape library's CAP?

We are using Networker v7.2 as our backup software on a Sun Solaris OS.

Thanks in advance for your help.
