Storage parameters in create table and performance...

Hi ,
I've been asked today if the STORAGE clause in the create table ....
create table <table_name>(x number(1),y varchar2(10) STORAGE (INITIAL 60K , MINEXTENTS .... MAXENTENTS ..... PCTINCREASE ....))
can affect the performance of inserts/updates/queries of rows existed in this object and in which way....???

I use Oracle10g v.2,
