Stopping listener: Mac OS X 10g installation

425155Feb 7 2006 — edited Feb 10 2006
I can start the listener and get its status from the command prompt, but when I issue the "lsnrctl stop" command the listener hangs up. The only way I can terminate the program is to issue a "ctrl C". Even though the listener didn't terminate normally it is stopped after I've issued the "cntrl C". The problem this causes is that I cannot use a shell script to stop the listener. I've double checked the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files and they're exactly as recommended.

What is causing the listener to hang up only when I try to stop it.
