Sterling Pound Symbol showing incorrect

27126Apr 21 2004 — edited Apr 28 2004
We have two 9.0.1.3 instances running on the same sun platform. One of the instances was a cloned via copying datafiles and restoring from backup control file.

When using SQLPLUS to select the Sterling pound currency symbol, it appears correct from the parent instance, but the cloned instance is showing a 'B#' symbol. The nls character sets are identical on both instances. The sterling pound symbol is correct in the cloned database shown by the DUMP command, and it appears correctly when selecting it on the server itself. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this? We were told it could be a setting issue on the client side, but why would it work for one instance and not the other, on the same client. Our NLS_LANG setting is AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8. Appreciate any comments.
