Steps to restart the Dataguard environment

665881Oct 6 2009 — edited Oct 6 2009
All,

Below is the environment details.

I have 3 node RAC environment in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 version. It is having physical standby environment with same configuration.

Oracle - 10.2.0.4.0
Linux - RHEL5

physical standby environment is running in Maximum availability mode.

Now my requirement is to alter few parameters which need database restart. Parameters like SGA_MAX_SIZE also need to be altered in both primary and standby environment.

I have done this kind of parameters setting in spfile and restarting the RAC environment. But, I never restarted the databases which is having standby setup.

Could you please tell me the correct steps in restarting the primary as well as standby environments. i am worried that it should not give any issues in log shipping as this one is production environment.
