Status : Failure -I/O Error: SSO Failed: Native SSPI library not loaded. Check the java.library.path

Attempting to connect to a sql server database

and I am receiving Status : Failure -I/O Error: SSO Failed: Native SSPI library not loaded. Check the java.library.path system property.

on the New / Select database Connection screen for the following inputs

connection name: sql_server

using the sql server tab

checked use window authentication

I added jtds 1.3.1.jar to database: third party jdbc drivers.

am I missing a step?
