STATS_MODE

Gurus,

Can anyone help me about STATS_MODE .. I saw a couple of explanations .. But, I couldnt really understand the meaning of it ..

"Returns the value that occurs with the greatest frequency" ... This is what the definition which has been given...

Is it like the record which is accessible frequently is displayed as the first record ?
