STARTUP PROBLEM

Oracle 10g
Linux

I am trying to startup the database and i am getting error

ORA-01078 failure in processing system parameter
LRM-00109 Could not open parameter file 'opt/oracle/product/10.2/db_1/dbs/initorcl.ora'

I also tried startup pfile='opt/oracle/product/10.2/db_1/dbs/spfileTEST.ora
LRM-00123 invalid character 0 found in the input file
ORA-01078 failure in processing system parameter

I am very new to LINUX
