Starting JDev from ADE view

Hi,
Our BU has recently started development in ADE, earlier we were using Rational ClearCase so nobody from our BU has much expertise in ADE. As part of my development work I need to start from JDev from ADE view (Linux) but I'm not able to do so. Even if I start the JDev from ADE view console, it shows the files of my HOME dir but I'm not able to access any of the files of the view.
Moreover in some EM docs I've read about starting JDev from VNC or teretilla but I don't know much about this. Please give me some suggestion on how I can do this, or if there are any documents pertaining to this, please give me a pointer.
