Star Office / Open Office on x86

807559Aug 25 2003 — edited Aug 26 2003
I have installed Solaris 9 x86 on my work computer (dell latitude laptop). It is amazing. I have a need to read the MS Office files. I am very familar with Suns Star Office 6.1, and have been testing it out instead of the traditional MS Suite on my windows Computer. It is great too. How can I get either Star Office or open office on my sol9-intel machine? Is the only option to order the CD from sun? I recently installed gnome 2, and screen shots of it apear to have an office tab under applications, but mine does not. ( i suspect I need to activate it , or it is only available on the sparc version of solaris.) Thank you.
