Standby database question

user537732Dec 20 2006 — edited Dec 22 2006
Hi guys,

I have a primary and standby databases running on different servers.
We had to shutdown the standby server for adding the hardware, so the machine was hard booted. When I restart the standby database redologs are not writing into it from the primary db. Looked at the status of standby db in V_$ARCHIVE_DEST_STATUS on primary database shows "DEFERRED".

Also when I log into dataguard on primary database and run "show configuration" the standby database status is diabled. The same command is hanging on standby database.

Is there anyway I can restore the standby database back to the way it is before?

Your help is really appreciated and thank you in advance.
