Standby - can it be on different version of OS than primary

vijaydba_appsdbaDec 10 2014 — edited Dec 13 2014

Hi All,

We are setting up a standby db.

Our primary is running on Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server 5.3 -Tikanga

and we are planning for standby with servers having different os

2 X Itanium Architecture serversĀ  with RHEL AS release 4 -Nahant

1 X Normal Architecture Server with RHEL AS release 4.2 - Nahant Update 2

We have installed the oracle db version in 10.0.2.0 in all the three servers and all running fine.

Is this all ok to configure standby on a different os than primary .

Please advise what are things need to be considered from a standard perspective.

Thanks,

Vijayaraghavan,.k
