SSL with Java NIO

We are using java NIO extensively for a new product. I just found out
that SSL cannot be used with NIO.
Is there a workaround (other than aborting java and java blocking I/O is not an option), or some one knows of any library extension that enables one to use
SSL with NIO.
I beleive SUN may support this in Tiger release (1.5) slated for
mid next year ... .too late for us.
Any help/ideas is highly appreciated.
