SSL Question

Hello All.

I am using Apex 3.0.1. We have several applications in which "https" type pages are being presented to users. These users log-in to the app using an LDAP authentication in which they type in their Windows usernames and passwords. A small lock icon appears at the bottom of the page due to using https which, in turn, is using SSL. This works fine. The issue I'm having is that this lock icon does NOT appear in situations in which we are using a custom authentication scheme. Does anyone know why?
