SSL Dataguard Redo Log Transport

IronMikeJun 3 2019

Hi all,

I want to use SSL Network Encryption for the redo log transport in my data guard environment.

I already know the following:

as Oracle says:

Network encryption (native network encryption and SSL/TLS) and strong authentication services (Kerberos, PKI, and RADIUS)

are no longer part of Oracle Advanced Security and are available in all licensed editions of all supported releases of Oracle Database.

I assume, meanwhile SSL is not part of the Oracle Advanced Security Option anymore, It can be used in any configuration (like Data Guard redo transport, general communication between client and server, and so on) for free.

Is my interpretation correct or is there any known limitation in using the SSL feature, which needs any additional license option?

Best regards

IronMike
