sqlplus -prelim option in Oracle 9i version.

Hi,

As we all know that by using sqlplus -prelim we can connect to sga but not to database...means no session is created.

This option is very much helpful in hanging situtation where we cant connect to database but we may need to execute commands like oradebug.

But how to perform this in Oracle 9i version as we do not have -prelim option in Oracle 9i version ???

Is there any way to perform oradebug without connecting to database and just connecting to sga.......as we do not any other way in Oracle 9i version???

I got this information from excellent article written by Arup Nanda Sir. But it was for Oracle 10g version. Please fallow up the below link for this article.
