sqlnet pwd secure or can be sniffed?

Hi,

Could you tell me where I can find info on password security over sql net. My question is if this goes over the line as text, or if its standard encrypted:

normal thin client, fat client, odbc, jdbc

I would like to be able to prove our security guys it does NOT go over the line as pure text, I would like to prove it with a sniffer.
