Sqlnet.ora file not available on RAC database server

Dear All,

We have two database nodes on 11gR2 database on linux environment. Today we got some tns timeout errors in alert logs and clients got failed after every few minutes.

I was just looking into logs to investigate the issue and found that we don't have sqlnet.ora in oracle rdbms home.

Can I create a sqlnet.ora file on both the nodes now?

what is the best parameters to keep in sqlnet.ora file to avoid tns timeout error messages?

Please suggest.
