sqlldr unrecoverable option?

632657Sep 2 2008 — edited Sep 4 2008
hi there-

in documentation around the web for sqlldr, i see mention of an "unrecoverable" option that seems to turn off logging to speed the load.

here is a sample web page: [http://www.oracleutilities.com/OSUtil/sqlldr.html]

this is what it says:
<!--[endif]-->
bq. Use unrecoverable. The unrecoverable \\ option (unrecoverable load data) disables the writing of the data to the redo \\ logs. This option is available for \\ direct path loads only.+
<!--[if supportFields]><b><i><span
style='mso-element:field-begin'></span></i></b><span
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>XE "<i>unrecoverable</i>" <![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]><b><i><span
style='mso-element:field-end'></span></i></b><![endif]-->However, the actual documentation for sqlldr doesn't seem to mention that option, for example:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96652/ch04.htm#1004683

I would like to use the option. anybody know how? (i realize that i could 'alter table nologging', but would prefer to do it as part of the sqlldr command, if possible).

thanks,
steve
