SQL uodate and substring question
878136Jul 26 2011 — edited Jul 26 2011I think I am in the right forum now - my bad. I have a column "acct_nr" thats varchar2 in table "account_num" and is a fixed 9 bytes numerics. ex: 123456789. I need to insert a '0' in postion 7 resulting in 1234560789 for all rows, i already have altered the column to 10 bytes. Do I need to use an update with a substring and || commands? Sorry, fairly new to SQL and PL/SQL.
