sql to identify first and last word of the string

Hi ,

i have to identify the first and last word of a string,
can any one suggest the best way..

for ex: 1.HI HOW ARE YOU
the result shud be HI ,YOU

2.Ramesh Murthy

result shud be Ramesh,Murthy

3.MOHAMED MERZA ALI TAHA
result shud be MOHAMED ,TAHA.
