SQL*PLUS: Error 46 initializing SQL*Plus

Installed the Oracle 9.2.0.1.0i on a SuSE Linux 8.0. All installation process is fine and without any error. As I tried to start sqlplus I got the following error:

oracle@pinguin:~> sqlplus
Error 46 initializing SQL*Plus
Internal error

Can anybody help me?
