Background: We have a nightly load job that truncates, selects and inserts millions of records from a source database into a target database connected via db link. Both databases are Oracle. This process needs about 6-7 hours to complete.
A question arose if it is possible (or even a good idea) to use the SQL Loader for this purpose? From what I read the SQL Loader is mainly used for loading flat files into a table.
Anyway, feedback appreciated.
